The Keys to a Successful Family Living
There are three primary things that each family member must do, these 3 includes the following: being open with your emotions and thoughts, practice self-discipline and most importantly respect. When a person wants to live peacefully with their family, this doesn’t mean they are giving everybody in the family a silent treatment. By peaceful living it means living a family life that practice respect for individual differences, knowing when is the right time to interfere with personal issues of other members in the family and of course effective communication.
1. High Regard to Everyone’s Personal Thoughts and Opinions
Knowing when to acknowledge a certain achievement done by one of your family members is a good way of showing you are paying attention to them and you are affectionate too. In a family appreciation can be done whenever you respect the views and opinions of your loved ones as well as their personal belongings. For example, if there is anybody in your family who is feeling sad then you must not ignore it. You must ask them why and just listen to their worries. Don’t feel like you have to do something in order to fix the problem because this is their own battle, what you can do is to be their for them and give them support in anyway you can.
Another way of showing respect is to be courteous in what you do. Even those simple thank you and please is already a sign of being polite. You can also ask them if there is something good or bad that happened for a certain day.
Keep in mind that being respectful of one’s ideas doesn’t mean you will always nod your head and agree with them. Everyone has their own idea so perhaps you can also share your thoughts about a certain topic. Sometimes your children might have this wonderful ideas and listening to them can be good as well however this is not the case all the time. When their ideas may seemed inappropriate, this is where an adult’s perception comes in handy. The way children see this world is entirely different. Learning something doesn’t always mean you have to listen from a more knowledgeable person, people with the same age as yours sometimes listening to your kids is a good avenue for learning. You can also explain why a certain idea won’t work and just let them try their ideas so long as it won’t put them in grave danger.
But the sad thing is people seemed to disregard the age of the person they’re talking to that is why respect is vital thing in one’s family. The probable reason why some people don’t like to listen to what person has to say is that they feel like they don’t have any vital thing to say or frustrations creeping into them. Those people have their own course of life to follow, sooner they’ll realize how important it is to respect one another and this should start within the family.
